The act of worship is no trivial matter to God; it is everything. Worship is not confined to just Sunday mornings, but is a mindset, a focus, a sacrifice. We can worship God through many different ways: song, giving, work, etc. As God’s creation; we need to worship. In fact, it is THE reason God told Moses to give Pharaoh to let His people go.
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, 'This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, so that they may worship me." (Exodus 9:1)
Worship is a time for us as believers to release everything that enslaves our minds and focus on our Heavenly Father. Every burden, every worry, every distraction is to be cast aside for the only important thing in our lives - our love for our Lord and Savior.
1Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
2Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his ;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
5For the LORD is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.
(Psalms 100 NIV)
During this fast, don’t wait for Sunday morning to usher in a heart of worship. Let’s live every moment with a song in our hearts and praise to our Heavenly Father!
