devotional day 13

Breath, focus, share; these are fasting principles to remember in the next 21 days.     

Take a breath - you will survive.     

Focus - make some goals during this fast and then focus.  

Share - God wants to hear from you; your joy, your pain, your frustration - everything.

"16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:16-19)


Abundant living in Christ can only become ours if we make the step of tapping into it by faith.


A lot of times we operate as if we walking constantly in front of a huge glass window - wishing to experience the lush greenery of a tropical paradise behind it. The paradise, with the warmth of the sun, the sounds of the exotic birds, the invigorating scents of the tropical flowers and the comforting coolness of the rich foliage all stays out of reach.


Looking through that glass we can learn everything about that amazing world, down to the smallest detail. We can scrupulously study the flora and fauna, know how its ecosystem runs and functions, yet never experience it for ourselves.


That is until we make the effort to find the door, open it and step out...


In the same way, God's presence is available for all believers. There is so much more than just having knowledge of the God or the Word. A relationship with our Lord can only be discovered and experienced in prayer and communication with God, establishing a personal relationship with Him. God wants to fellowship with you, he created you after all.


During this fast, take a step further, pass through the glass of religion to a true relationship with Christ, the risen Savior.
