Today’s devotional is a prayer. We suggest you read it over a couple times, reflect on it and commit these words to the Lord. The enemy is doing what he can to distract you away from the purpose of this fast. Take some time in solitude to commune with our Lord. He wants to hear from you. He loves you.
“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory and the One who lifts my head.”
Lord God, I thank you for the shield you provide for me – the invisible strength and presence you help us to walk in will satisfy my fears and put them to rest. Help me remember that you gave this Word to your people. Let me see past this world to the next, and see in wisdom, the intricate love and arrangement of your hand on my life.
Lord, I see how long the Israelites longed for a King to protect them as they faced the cruel world. So I too, as I face so many obstacles forces of distraction and sorrow, look to you to be my King and protect me from my enemies. Help me to rely heavily upon you, to see your hand in the circumstances of my life, to gladly accept your will for me and to bgrateful that I am among your citizens.
I praise you name O mighty King and I look forward to the day I will see you in all your glory and splendor.
